Best New Features of SAP IBP 2202

SAP’s Integrated Business Planning (IBP) quarterly upgrade is finally here, and the 2202 release comes with numerous great new features. Between improved user UI, new capabilities, and a new level of detail within building, the New Year is being kicked off with plenty of new features that are sure to help you manage your supply chain planning. See these top 5 features in action in the video below, or continue reading to learn about each one.

Shared Write Access in Analytics

Introduced in this upgrade is the ability to give users or user groups the ability to edit Analytics and Dashboards that have been shared with them. Previously, users or groups were able to see the analytics but were unable to make any changes to them.  Write access can be given to the users in the dialog box as you are sharing the Analytic or Dashboard in question with them.  With the ability to now share and edit, users can be much more collaborative when looking at these various metrics.

Manage Product Lifecycle Enhancements

New in 2202, Manage Product Lifecycle has 3 added enhancements. The first addition is that now you can specify a shelf-fill start, value, and length. This is especially useful for the retail industry with contractual obligations for guaranteed inventory levels at product release. For the second enhancement, previously when new assignments were created, they defaulted to Inactive. Now they are Active by default.  Lastly, when using an upload file in the Fiori tile, you can now upload permission filters.

Real Time Integration Reconciliation

SAP has added a new Application Job now called Real-Time Integration (Reconciliation). The Application Job allows the comparison of transactional data in an Order Based Planning Area to the data within an SAP ERP system or S/4 HANA.  The results of the application job run are visible and can be acted upon in the new Data Comparison and Reconciliation for RTI Fiori app.  To accompany this new feature, there is a new business catalog (SAP_IBP_BC_RTIREC_PC) that allows administrators to choose who can execute this new job.

Optimizer and Heuristic: Subnetwork Processing

Supply planning is getting added functionality as well. Subnetworks now have new ways to control planning at specific product and location combinations.  First off, now receipt costs can be specified at each individual sending AND receiving location. The second addition is that transportation calendars and location validity are now considered for each sourcing location. Both of these additions lead to an even more optimal solution for both receiving and sending locations.

New Optimizer Cost Types

Along with the previously discussed supply planning, the optimizer has received new cost types and reporting.  In the Optimizer Run Details screen (accessed through the logs), planners can now view Confirmed Transport Supply Violation Costs.  Users will now be able to see these violation costs that are incurred within the “frozen horizon”.
